Shutting Down Your Computer

You should shut down your computer before your turn it off. To exit Windows95 and turn off your computer, click the Start button and click Shut Down. The Shut Down window appears.

Note You can also use the Suspend command to turn off your computer. Suspend saves the current system setting, shuts down Windows95, and turns off the computer. After you turn off the computer using the Suspend command, the computer, when restarted, will boot or restart much more quickly than if the Shut Down command was used.

Click Yes to Shut Down the computer. A message on the screen will appear telling you it is safe to turn off your computer.
